If you are switching from an airbag style steering wheel to a non airbag style steering wheel on your E30, then you will need this spacer.  This is the OEM BMW spacer used on non airbag steering wheels.  Simply remove your airbag steering wheel and place this spacer around the steering column shaft and install the non airbag wheel.
 
*Note: this only works for OEM non airbag steering wheels (3 spoke sport wheel, mtech 1, mtech 2 etc)
